Why The US Is On Its Way To Becoming A 3rd World Country… & My New Office.

May 19, 2010 - 3:29 pm

US Economy Crisis | Economic Recession | US Recession

(This is a bit of a controversial topic so I want to go ahead & from the get-go mention that I don’t mean to offend anyone’s views in any shape or form.)

There’s really no question as to whether or not the US is in a financial crisis right now. But the picture is a LOT bigger than that.

Yes, the unemployment rate is at an all time high. Yes, taxes are going up. Yes, people are freaking out about how they’re going to actually retire.

BUT… we are in a much better situation that the grand majority of the world right now.

50% of the world population is living on $2 a DAY. 20% of the world population is living on only $1 a day. And we’re worried about how we’re going to pay our convenience bills when more than half the world is dying from starvation.

Here’s the cold & bitter truth… if we, as Americans, don’t stop the unnecessary spending, don’t start saving, & don’t start thinking about the WORLD as a whole… not only will we suffer greatly as citizens of the US, but so will the rest of the world population.

America is known to be one of the most powerful countries in the world, if not THE most powerful… and that’s almost by default. And I think that we’ve gotten so lax about the situation that we think we’re immune to the rules of how the economy at large works.

You may or may not have noticed this yet, but the way YOU handle your money has a tremendous impact on the rest of the world.

But the unfortunate fact is, more than 90% of the US population doesn’t know how money works. So how could you help the rest of the world financially when you’re trying to figure out how to get out of debt yourself?

So there are a few things that we need to fix about ourselves first and about the way we handle our money. Thankfully it’s not difficult at all to understand. There are some basic financial concepts that you need to learn & once you’ve gotten a firm understanding of them, you can very easily be your own “money manager”… and actually do a great job.

Over time, I will create more videos for you on this subject that will actually break down these financial principles so you know what I’m talking about.

But for now, all you need to do is choose which set of habits you’re going to act on.

If you don’t pay attention to what you’re spending, and you have no actual budget that you’re working from… then you’re basically “shooting in the dark”. And it’s a very dangerous position to be in especially when it comes down to your money.

You need to have a very clear understanding of where you’re money is being spent, and if you can live without it… if it’s NOT a necessity… you can afford to cut it out of your lifestyle. And whatever amount of money you were spending on that, you can put towards your savings and retirement fund.

Now, if you’re making $30,000 a month, then you are able to afford certain comfort items… but if you’re going from paycheck to paycheck, you really need to be careful how you play with your money.

And once you can control how you spend $2,000… you’ll run into opportunities where you can make more, so you can save more. The more you save, the more secure you are… the more secure you are, the more you can help others achieve that same goal.

If we all put our minds & hearts together, we can do some great things for the world. But in order to help the world, you have to help yourself first.

Stay tuned for future videos & articles on this subject.

How To Save Time: Getting The Phone Operator To Co-Operate

May 7, 2010 - 10:44 am

Manage Time | Save Time | Power Of Influence

As a home based business owner, your time is extremely valuable. Not only do you have to deal with the day-to-day’s of your operation, but you also have to deal with unnecessary & daunting tasks like staying on hold for 45 minutes to talk to a phone operator that seems to hate the world.

(This doesn’t apply to you if you have a personal assistant that does all this stuff for you… but if you’re running a small business and you don’t have a personal assistant, then you’ll want to read the rest of this article & watch the video above)

If you’ve EVER tried to call a major company for customer service, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

But when I call any operator – doesn’t matter if it’s a government service or my internet company – I always get the person on the other end to go completely out of their way to help me out. It’s really easy to do and I’m about to show you.

Now here’s the thing… when you call to speak to customer service, technical support, etc. you really can’t do much about the wait time. That’s a given for all of us. But when you finally get on the line with somebody, you cannot afford to piss that person off more than they already are.

Chances are that they talked to several very rude customers right before you called and all that anger & frustration is just stuck inside them and they’re waiting for the first chance to let it out. So if you want them to help you, your best bet ISN’T to get loud, angry & start yelling at them… it’s not going to help the situation.

What you CAN do, however, is the strategy that works for me more than 90% of the time… and that’s to be NICE to the phone operator.

What?! Be nice?! I don’t see how that’s going to work.

Let me explain.

What we tend to forget almost all the time is the fact that the person on the other end of the line is in fact, a human being. Contrary to popular belief, they DO have feelings & emotions and they DO have a mind of their own. We just don’t really notice it because they’re constantly reading from some sort of script that they’ve been taught. But just because they sound robotic, doesn’t mean they are a robot.

So keep this in mind whenever you’re talking to any kind of phone operator. It’s a small yet powerful mindset to have.

So what are you supposed to do? How do you get the operator to go completely out of their way and do everything in their power to get you what you want?

Easy… politely ask for it.

I even take it a step further and BEFORE I even mention what my problem is, I make it a point to ask the operator how their day is going and such. I take about 30 seconds to a minute to completely focus on THEM. And I don’t do it just because I want to trick them into helping me… I do it because I genuinely care for the person on the other line.

Now… when you actually care for the other person, they notice it automatically. They can tell just from the tone of your voice that you care for them… so by nature, they “return the favor”.

It’s amazing how easy it is to get the phone operator’s cooperation. If you just apply the system that I described above and watch the video that’s on this page, you’ll have a very good idea of how it works.

Try it for yourself and tell me what results you got. Post it at the bottom of this page.

Alright, stay cool…

The Elevator Pitch & Internet Marketing: How It Affects Your Home Based Business

May 4, 2010 - 8:47 pm

Elevator Pitch | Internet Marketing | Home Based Business

Sales has always been an important part of any business model. Whether you’re in retail, direct sales, wholesale, or service… you NEED to know how to sell. And the most important part of the sales process is the classic Elevator Pitch.

Before the internet came around, people did their selling the old fashioned way. Made calls, set up appointments, made sales presentations & closed. A small business owner would have to do a LOT of the selling towards the beginning of his business life… and if he saves up some of his hard earned money, then he could go hire a sales person to do the selling for him… he then would focus on growth and expansion of the business.

Thankfully, with the power of the internet anyone can start a business from home and with very LITTLE capital investment start a website that will serve as their very own sales person. This is why the home based business phylosophy is such an attractive thing to a LOT of people.

But here is where the complication comes in. As simple & easy as it sounds, you need to know what you’re doing to sell online. You need to have a good enough understanding of the sales process and more importantly the sales mentality.

One of the most popular sales concepts is the Elevator Pitch.

An Elevator Pitch is simply a one line statement (preferably short enough to be used in an elevator ride) designed to capture the interest of a QUALIFIED prospect. Here’s why I emphasized on the word qualified. Sales is NOT a game of convincing people to buy from you. Sales is all about finding people who are already, somewhat interested in what you’re offering and you LEAD them through the right steps that they need to take to buy from you.

Now these steps include getting their attention, making a powerful presentation, handling questions, and closing.

Which one do you think is the hardest step in that process?

If you thought closing, unfortunately you’re wrong. Handling questions (objections) isn’t really it either. And it’s pretty easy to design a powerful sales presentation.

The hardest part about the sales process is FINDING QUALIFIED PROSPECTS. If you had a qualified prospect you wouldn’t need to “hard sell” them… especially if you have a product that “sells itself”.

That’s why the Elevator Pitch concept is so important. If you understand how to design an Elevator Pitch that can grab the attention of your prosect & entice them to want more information from you, then you’ve won half the battle right there.

But don’t freak out… an Elevator Pitch is super easy to design. Much easier than you’re thinking right now.

And you’re probably wondering why I keep mentioning Elevator Pitch if we’re supposed to be talking about Internet Marketing & Home Based Businesses.

And I’m about to tell you.

The Elevator Pitch equivelant in Internet Marketing is the headline of your website. If you understand how to create a powerful Elevator Pitch then you’ll have no problems writing a great headline for your website.

This video gives you the full breakdown. Let me know what you think.
