The Elevator Pitch & Internet Marketing: How It Affects Your Home Based Business

May 4, 2010 - 8:47 pm

Elevator Pitch | Internet Marketing | Home Based Business

Sales has always been an important part of any business model. Whether you’re in retail, direct sales, wholesale, or service… you NEED to know how to sell. And the most important part of the sales process is the classic Elevator Pitch.

Before the internet came around, people did their selling the old fashioned way. Made calls, set up appointments, made sales presentations & closed. A small business owner would have to do a LOT of the selling towards the beginning of his business life… and if he saves up some of his hard earned money, then he could go hire a sales person to do the selling for him… he then would focus on growth and expansion of the business.

Thankfully, with the power of the internet anyone can start a business from home and with very LITTLE capital investment start a website that will serve as their very own sales person. This is why the home based business phylosophy is such an attractive thing to a LOT of people.

But here is where the complication comes in. As simple & easy as it sounds, you need to know what you’re doing to sell online. You need to have a good enough understanding of the sales process and more importantly the sales mentality.

One of the most popular sales concepts is the Elevator Pitch.

An Elevator Pitch is simply a one line statement (preferably short enough to be used in an elevator ride) designed to capture the interest of a QUALIFIED prospect. Here’s why I emphasized on the word qualified. Sales is NOT a game of convincing people to buy from you. Sales is all about finding people who are already, somewhat interested in what you’re offering and you LEAD them through the right steps that they need to take to buy from you.

Now these steps include getting their attention, making a powerful presentation, handling questions, and closing.

Which one do you think is the hardest step in that process?

If you thought closing, unfortunately you’re wrong. Handling questions (objections) isn’t really it either. And it’s pretty easy to design a powerful sales presentation.

The hardest part about the sales process is FINDING QUALIFIED PROSPECTS. If you had a qualified prospect you wouldn’t need to “hard sell” them… especially if you have a product that “sells itself”.

That’s why the Elevator Pitch concept is so important. If you understand how to design an Elevator Pitch that can grab the attention of your prosect & entice them to want more information from you, then you’ve won half the battle right there.

But don’t freak out… an Elevator Pitch is super easy to design. Much easier than you’re thinking right now.

And you’re probably wondering why I keep mentioning Elevator Pitch if we’re supposed to be talking about Internet Marketing & Home Based Businesses.

And I’m about to tell you.

The Elevator Pitch equivelant in Internet Marketing is the headline of your website. If you understand how to create a powerful Elevator Pitch then you’ll have no problems writing a great headline for your website.

This video gives you the full breakdown. Let me know what you think.

How To Increase Your Self Confidence

April 29, 2010 - 9:45 pm

Increase Self Confidence | Personal Development

The most crucial thing required to succeed in any kind of business – not just a home based business – is a high self confidence… or a healthy self image.

All the motivational talk in the world isn’t enough to give you access to an ever-lasting confidence. So I want to give you an actual technique that really can help you permanently increase your confidence. I developed this technique by combining a few concepts that I learned form Blair Singer & T. Harv Eker.

There’s a lot of psychology involved & there’s a good dosage of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). But it’s not nearly as complicated as it sounds so don’t freak out.

Check out the video and let me know what you think.

Stay cool,

Arman V.

P.S. I almost forgot… there’s a LOT more to the inner game of success and there is no possible way that I can explain it in a short video clip. There are many skill sets you need to learn that mainly use the power of your mind & instincts… and that’s HOURS worth of information. So I’ve spread out the info between 7 recordings and you get instant access to them for free. Just go here to learn how to build a 6-figure business all from the comfort of your own home.

Learning From The “3 Feet From Gold” Story

April 24, 2010 - 5:30 pm

3 Feet From Gold | Home Based Business | Personal Developement

This is one of my favorite stories from the Napoleon Hill books and no matter how many times I hear it, I still learn something from it… because just like other home business owners, I really wanted to quit towards the beginning. There is always that little voice that keeps telling you to give up what you’re doing because it’s “not working”.

But just like the story goes… there are a LOT of great things waiting for you if you don’t give up and persevere.

The story is about a guy named R.U. Darby who wanted to start a gold mining business back during the gold rush days. So he started to dig with his pick & shovel and soon enough… he found gold. But the gold orb that he had found was so big that he needed expensive machinery to dig it out.

So he went to his friends and family members and asked them to loan him the money so he could buy the necessary machinery. And they did.

He was mining a lot of gold and was almost about to pay all his debts off when the vein of gold that he had found suddenly disappeared. They kept digging and digging but there was no gold to be found. So Darby gave up and decided to sell his machinery to a junkyard owner.

But the junkyard owner wasn’t a fool… he decided to hire a specialist to take one last look at the digging site before he got rid of the machinery. And the specialist told him that if Darby would have continued to dig just 3 more feet… he would have hit a very LARGE collection of gold orb that would have made him a multi-millionaire.

So the junkyard owner kept digging and sure enough, 3 feet later… there was GOLD.

Here’s the moral of this story… when all hope seems lost, when you don’t feel like waking up in the morning to put in another day’s worth of work, when you feel like all your hard efforts are going to waste… think of Darby.

Think of how much money he lost just because he gave up at the first sign of trouble… and don’t make that mistake.

Your biggest success is usually right around the corner after your biggest failure.

Don’t let temporary defeat beat you… you’re much better & stronger than that. Keep moving… keep working… and NEVER give up on your dreams of a prosperous life.

You can do it.

Stay cool,

Arman Vakili

Home Based Business Myths: You’ll Make a Gajillion Dollars Overnight

March 9, 2010 - 7:50 pm

Home Based Business Tips

Okay, maybe a Gajillion dollars overnight is a bit extreme… but I think you get the point.

Let’s throw something very serious on the table before you waste any of your time trying to build a home based business.

Realize that it’s a business.

That means that you have to view it, analyze it, and work it as one. You may be one of the very FEW people who gets enormous success off the get-go, but chances are you won’t have a lot of success the first day… or the first week, the first month, or even the first year.

The long term success of your business is completely and utterly dependent on your ability to consistently go to work every day.

And yes, there WILL be days where you won’t feel like getting out of bed… but there will also be days where you can’t go to sleep because you’re so excited about the progress of your business. If you really want your business to succeed, you have to go to work no matter how you feel emotionally.

Let me explain what I mean by that.

Let’s say that you’re going through a really rough time in your life, financially. I know that it can get very depressing during these times because I used to be there not too long ago. But even though you may be hurting right now, your future depends on your ability to keep going.

And once you start getting some success under your belt and you start making some money… DON’T STOP. Keep going.

Build your business bigger and stronger. Don’t stop until the job is done… and don’t stop when you begin to see success.

Here’s why I underlined the word begin above.

A lot of people will put it the effort that it takes to get a home business off the ground and when they start to make a little money, they stop what they were doing that got them there in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong… if you can live on a $5,000 per month income, then by all means, go ahead. But if you have a bigger vision for your life… you have to keep going until the job is done.

It will NOT happen overnight… so don’t expect it to.

Set your expectations right now to the place where you know that you have to work for at least a year to get to a substantial income in your home based business… otherwise, you might as well not even start one.

Stay focused. Stay persistent. Stay strong.

You’ll get there.

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas: Drop Shipping

January 11, 2010 - 12:00 am

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas | Drop Shipping

Today we are going to explore, drop shipping,  another excellent home based business opportunity.

Now, what is drop shipping you ask?

Drop shipping is a technique where distributors, wholesalers, manufacturers and/or importers sell their products through you. Basically, you create your own online storefront that sells their goods.

However unlike a traditional storefront, you wouldn’t have any inventory on hand. This is  because the other parties involved  handle the logistics.  Essentially when entering online drop shipping you enter a partnership, where the drop shipper does the dirty work.

Like with affiliate marketing your are responsible for driving the traffic and turning it into sales. Once you set up your store front all that is left is to receive and forward the orders, That, in a nutshell is how drop shipping works.

With that said, let’s talk about pros.

Pros:

  • As you do not handle inventory and there would be no stock carrying expenses to worry about.
  • There is no need to invest money to buy the product because you only pay after you get paid by the client who bought it.
  • There is no quota as to how many products you must sell. It doesn’t matter if you sell just one item each time.
  • Your drop shipper would be the one to handle all the necessary specifications and images that you would need. This way, you won’t have to spend time and money on making your own.
  • You get to put your own selling price on the product which is extremely convenient if you have extensive knowledge of your niche market.
  • You are not limited to working with just one supplier. You can open a web store that offers various products from multiple drop shippers.

To start a drop shipping operation the first thing you need to do is find the products you want to sell and the drop shippers who can supply you with them.

Some of the most popular items include books, shoes, clothing, toys, music, movies, accessories, bed and bath items as well as video games. Of course this is by no means a complete list. Just like with affiliate marketing, we strongly recommend that you look into products that you have a passion for.

Of course, drop shipping does have its own set of drawbacks such as lack of control of inventory levels, discontinued products and turnaround time.

Fortunately most of drawbacks can be limited with the use of a reputable drop shipping service.

Some thing that determine the reputation of a drop shipping service include:

  • Their readiness and willingness to ship one item at a time.
  • Free membership
  • Should be reputable and has had experience in the business.
  • Is okay with using your name or your shop’s name as the shipper.
  • Is willing to enclose an invoice from you.
  • There should be no indication on their packaging that points to them as the drop shipper.
  • Is willing to accommodate other specifications from you.

One of the most reputable drop shipping partners is www.doba.com. Doba has a solid reputation and is on the forefront of drop shipping.

Using their website you would be able to set up your very own store front with ease as well as immediately get connected to merchants. All that’s left for you to do is drive the traffic.

Still, like with every other business opportunity, the more research you put in the better.

Alright… that’s it for drop shipping.

Home Based Business Myths: Free Home Businesses

December 28, 2009 - 1:03 pm

Home Based Business Tips

Having lived in three different countries, and having dealt with more than a dozen different ethnical backgrounds I’ve noticed a very common characteristic between us humans.

We always want something for free.

Doesn’t really matter what it is.

I’ve seen people bargain over getting a free pair of socks, to a corporate employee wanting a promotion but not willing to put in the required effort, to someone looking to start a 6-figure business from home but not willing to pay the initial monetary and effort costs.

We’ve got to come out of this mindset of wanting things to be handed to us on a “silver platter”.

I see parents constantly reminding their children of this concept but they themselves forget about it when it comes down to them actually doing some work.

So here’s where I’m going with this.

There’s no such thing as a FREE home based business. And there’s definitely NO home based business opportunity that just builds itself without you contributing.

At the very least, you’ll need to buy your own domain name which will run you about $10. And hosting costs about $6 a month.

Now, this is ALL considering that you DON’T pay for advertising, you DON’T buy any courses that will actually teach you how to market online, and you DON’T pay anyone for outsourcing the grunt work (web design, article writing, ad writing, etc.)

But let’s say that you didn’t pay for anything other than your domain name & hosting… and you got a free product from an affiliate network like clickbank.com.

Building a site that you can use to promote that particular product takes work.

It takes effort… sometimes a LOT of effort. (Especially if you don’t want to invest much capital up front)

So no matter how many times you read it online, or how badly you want it to be true… FREE home businesses don’t exist.

You’ll either need to invest some money to get it going, or you’ll need to invest some time & effort.

I know this all goes against the fantasy that has been built in the back of your mind by countless internet marketers, but I thought I should let you in on the truth.

Home businesses DO require money… and you won’t really be spending the money on the actual website itself, but on other people’s products that can teach you HOW to run your business.

And if you’re telling yourself that you won’t buy anyone else’s product… that you’ll figure it out on your own… you’re honestly making a HUGE mistake.

There have been thousands of people before you and I came along that have built successful businesses from home… using the internet.

And quite frankly, it would be a lot easier, faster, and cheaper if you learned how to do it from the people who have already been there.

I’ll try to send you the best recommendations I can as far as which courses to look for. I have spent a lot of money on courses that weren’t worth the paper they were written on, and I don’t want you to go through that yourself.

So if you haven’t subscribed to this blog already, do so because I will be updating it frequently with valuable content.

And there’s always the most complete home business course that’s out on the net today, and I’m giving you access to it for free.

So I’m doing my part to make sure that you make money from your home business, but you have to make sure that you put in the work that’s required to make it all work, too.

Deal?

Good.

Until later… stay cool,

Arman Vakili

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas: MLM

December 26, 2009 - 5:44 pm

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas | MLM

There’s a lot of trash being talked about different MLM companies, and the MLM industry as a whole.

Some for good reason… some not.

I’ve actually promoted several different MLM companies and the most common objection I get from a prospect is…

“Oh… I’ve heard of these. This is one of those Pyramid things, right?”

And the most interesting part is that most people don’t even KNOW what a pyramid scheme really is… and how it’s different from the MLM business model.

That’s a completely different topic for a different day.

The point is, it’s a business model that works... And it’s one of the very few business models that you can start with very little capital investment. (Like it says in the headline of this article)

There are only 2 things that you need to build a successful MLM organization:

  1. An easily duplicable marketing system that can do most of the “grunt work” for your downline.
  2. Great upline support.

Those 2 things go hand-in-hand, together. You really can’t build a BIG business – the kind that you see in the different conventions for these companies – if BOTH of those 2 things aren’t there.

So as an example, if I brought a new distributor into my business, it would be my responsibility to make sure that he succeeds. That is my duty as his upline.

And in order for that new distributor to succeed, I have to give him a marketing system that he can easily learn to use… and more importantly, get him to actually START using it.

I can talk all day about creating marketing systems but in short, I made a website that would basically do all the prospecting & presenting FOR my distributors… and the call of action at the end of the presentation was to CALL the name at the bottom – which would be the distributor.

Now the only thing that the new distributor has to worry about is getting traffic to the individual site that they would get. And as the upline, it would be my responsibility to show them how.

And if you decide to join the MLM industry yourself, you would inherit those same responsibilities as a leader.

Your prospects will be coming to you with their hopes & dreams in hand, looking to you to show them the way to get to their goal… and that’s a very big responsibility.

So make sure that the team you join has a marketing system that you can easily learn & use… and most importantly, make sure that they have the type of leadership that can easily show YOU how to be a leader.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions from your recruiter to see exactly how they work in their team, and what type of support is available to you.

It’s your right as a prospect to know.

Alright… that’s it for today.

Stay cool,

Arman Vakili

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas: Information Marketing

December 8, 2009 - 9:21 pm

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas | Information Marketing

For as long as anyone can remember, human brings have always had an urge to take record of their learning experiences. And as a counterpart to this concept, they also have the urge to be constantly searching for information on HOW to do certain things.

Before the internet, people would have to go to libraries & book stores to get this information. But now, it has become extremely easy to get access to information using different resources such as search engines.

A person looking for information about how to potty-train their dog, would go online and search for it on Google.

And as a home business owner, you have the opportunity to learn about that subject (if you don’t know it already) and create an information product that can answer all of the questions that person has on the subject.

And in order to learn HOW to potty-train their dog, that person would have to purchase your course from you… whether it be an eBook, audio, or video course.

This is usually the part where someone would say, “Well… I really don’t know anything that I can make an Information Product out of.”

That really isn’t very likely. There usually is something that you are really good at, that you can teach someone else.

And if it’s not you, it could be someone you know that’s really good at something and you can use the information in their head to create a product, and then you can focus on the marketing.

A lot of times, people are willing to do a few interviews with you for free just for the extra publicity.

And in the worst case scenario, if you don’t know anything yourself and you don’t know anyone that is good at anything (highly unlikely)… there IS one last resort that is failsafe.

LEARN how to do something new and create an information product delivering the “meat” of the content that you just learned. It’s not at all a complicated process, and you can get through it in one weekend.

And the really cool thing is that it doesn’t cos ta single penny to create something like an eBook. Just open up MS Word or your favorite word document and type away. Then you can turn that file into a PDF file and sell it as a digital download.

So there is very LITTLE start up investment required, and you can make a VERY good living promoting your own information product. And if it’s in a good niche, you can create more backend products that will help you increase your customer lifetime value.

But my favorite thing about running an Information Product business is the fact that as a product owner, you now can have your own affiliate program. Once you have a sales funnel that converts prospects into buyers, an affiliate program will EXPLODE your profits. You will only need to pay something when a sale is made, and that’s a pretty powerful position to be in as a business owner.

By the way, if you don’t know how to set up an effective marketing system to promote your products for you… you can get access to a free comprehensive course we designed that will show you the A-B-C’s of building a profitable home based business.

You’ll learn everything from product creation, to website creation, to copywriting, to advertising and driving traffic. It’s the most complete course of its kind and you can get access to the free videos on this blog.

Go here to download your home business videos.

Alright… that’s it for today.

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas: Affiliate Marketing

December 2, 2009 - 1:14 am

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas | Affiliate Marketing

For this particular section, the title should’ve been “FREE Home Based Businesses”… but oh well, we’ll just leave it as it is.

Affiliate marketing happens to be the ONLY home based business opportunity that you can start literally with ZERO start up capital.

(And if you’ve been doing your research, you should already know that starting a home business online usually comes at some sort of price.)

It doesn’t cost you anything to sign up with an affiliate program, and if you know what you’re doing, it doesn’t cost you anything to market your program either… so literally any money that you make from affilite sales will go directly to your pocket.

But before I start giong off on how much money you can make promoting affiliate programs – and I can talk about that ALL day – let me give you a break-down of how affiliate marketing actually works. (That is… if you don’t already know)

The wuold-be affiliate – you – goes to any oone of the thousands of affiliate networks that are available online and signs up with them for free.

Once you’ve signed up, you get your very own affiliate link that you can use to promote that particular program. And from that point on, all you have to do is send traffic to yoru affiliate link.

That’s it.

The sales letter has already been written for you, the merchat account and shopping cart have already been set up for you, and the product has already been created.

If you were going to do all of those things yourself, you have no idea how much time, money, and effort you would need to put in to set it all up.

We’re talking $1000’s of your personal money invested, and hundreds upon hundreds of hours of work put in.

Not to mention all the headache that comes along with taking care of your own customer service.

So the simple fact that it’s been all done for you should be a very powerful motivator to choose affiliate marketing as your home based business.

But if that’s not enough, there is just one last piece of info that I want to share with you about affiliate programs. (This will blow your socks off)

For a very long time, the only way that you could get paid through affiliate programs was on a “one sale, one commission” basis. That means that any sale you made, you’d get paid the initial commission due to you, and that was it.

If the product creator made any follow-up sales to that particular prospect… you wouldn’t get a DIME of it.

But what I’m seeing a lot more now-a-days is how program owners are starting to pay their affiliates on a continuity based comp plan.

Continuity means that the product is delivered through a monthly subscription… and every month, the buyer is charged another $17, $27, or $47 for that month’s subscription.

So this means that if you refer a sale to that particular affiliate program, you’ll get paid EVERY MONTH that the subscriber stays with that program.

Pretty cool, huh?

So promoting continuity based affiliate programs will allow you to make PASSIVE INCOME from your home based business… and if you can get paid without having to do any extra work, wouldn’t that be the ideal lifestyle that we’re ALL trying to go after?

And now for your action step… Visit one or all of the affiliate networks below. (And I recommend that you go to Google and search for more “affiliate programs” that you can join)

Sign up with the network of your choice and start reviewing some of its products that you can promote. Once you’ve picked the product, head to the “Traffic” section of this blog to see how you can start generating traffic to your affiliate link.

Here are some of the most popular affiliate networks:

· ClickBank

· Commission Junction

· Amazon

· Target

There are a LOT more out there and I highly recommend that you look for them.

Alright… good luck!

Leave any comments or questions that you have below, and I’ll do my best to respond to them quickly.

Stay cool,

Arman V.

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas: eBay

November 30, 2009 - 12:37 am

Legitimate Home Based Business Ideas | eBay

One of the most commonly known home businesses is Ebay. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 5 years or so, you should know about how Ebay works.

But just in case you don’t… Here is a quick break-down. You can use Ebay in 2 ways:

1. As a buyer – looking to find a good bargain on a certain product.
2. As a seller – looking to auction of your product(s) & sell it to the highest bidder.

As a home business seeker, you’ll be going for option #2. The Seller.

You can earn money by becoming an affiliate and promoting various eBay auctions. In fact, we recommend that you sign up as an affiliate or a partner instead of a merchant. Doing so can save you time and make you money.

So how will you promote these eBay auctions? First you need to sign up as an affiliate. EBay would then review your submission and if your website or blog meets their standards… YOU’RE IN.

You would then be provided with various banners, buttons, links as well as live auction feeds that you can place on your blog or website. Whenever someone clicks on any of those, they are immediately taken to eBay’s website.

Another way to make money through eBay is by selling some of your old “junk” and cleaning out your garage while you’re at it.

And it’s pretty simple to sell stuff on Ebay, but for best results, try the following 3 step system:

1. Research the Ebay marketplace to see if anyone else is selling a product similar to what you’re selling. (Look for good feedback when reviewing Sellers… good feedback usually means that the person knows what they’re doing and people are happy with their service.)

2. Post your auction with a reasonable starting bid. If you do correct research on other sellers, you should have a pretty good idea of what a reasoable bid would be for your particular product.

3. Write a good ad. This is the deal maker/breaker. Selling products on Ebay is no different than selling products through a regular website.

You will have competitors and if you want your product to sell over the other guy’s, you need to write a powerful ad to promote your product. And for that you need to know how to write powerful sales copy.

Study copywriting as if the life of your business depended on it… because it DOES.

One last thing about promoting products through Ebay. Costs.

Setting up an Ebay account is free. But each auction that you personally post will cost you $1.
It’s pretty cheap but realize that if that particular auction DOESN’T sell… then you’ve lost your dollar.

The affiliate program is completely free.

And that would be it for Ebay.

I’ll keep you posted on any updates as soon as I run into them.

And as always, if you have any questions or comments about this post, please post them below.

Stay cool,

Arman V.

P.S. If you STILL haven’t taken advantage of my free home business video series, then you’re really doing yourself injustice. It’s the most complete home business program of its kind and you’ll end up saving yourself $10,000’s if not $100,000’s down the line because of the information you find in it.
